Mixco Viejo, also known as Jilotepeque Viejo.
The site was built in the 12th century, on a hill with deep ravines around it. It is located between the Pixcayá and Motagua rivers and is one of the oldest cities in the Kaqchikel kingdom. Its ceremonial name was Chuwa Nima Ab’aj which means In front of the great stone in Kaqchikel.
