Itinerary

8:00 AMDeparture from Panajachel

We meet at the Porta Hotel del Lago and walk to the public beach. There, we’ll board a boat bound for Chacayá, enjoying the stunning scenery of the lake surrounded by volcanoes.

8:30 AMArrival at Chacayá Beach and transfer to town

From the beach, we’ll head to downtown Chacayá either by motorcycle, on foot with a short walk, or by car—whichever best suits your group’s needs and preferences.

9:00 AMMeet the community of Chayá

Discover how coffee benefits several families in the village.

9:30 AMVisit to the coffee plots

We’ll tour the community plots where coffee is grown. A local guide will explain the planting techniques, the varieties grown, plant care, and ancestral knowledge associated with the crop.

10:00 AMVisit the small viewpoint overlooking the coffee plots

Connect with nature and enjoy a beautiful view.

11:00 AMVisit to the mill: coffee processing and its history.

  • We’ll visit the mill where the pulping, drying, and selection of the beans takes place. We’ll also learn about the history of coffee in the region and its cultural and economic importance.

11:30 AMEnjoy a scenic walk through coffee fields

Meet friendly farm animals, and discover banana and tomato plantations that grow along the shores of the lake.

12:00 PMCoffee tasting with champurrada

We will enjoy a cup of freshly brewed coffee accompanied by a traditional artisanal champurrada, in a moment to share and exchange experiences.
