Antigua Guatemala is considered the best preserved colonial city in Central America. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO on October 26, 1979. Antigua is famous for its culture, history, art and religion. In this explanatory walk you will be able to live and experience Antigua from the top of the city, on different rooftops in order to appreciate different aspects of this magical city:

• History (settlement, foundation, colonial period, transfer of the city and independence).
• Art (Baroque art, Antiguan artists, artistic treasures, among others).
• Religion (Main religious orders during the Colonial period, El Santo Hermano Pedro, Lent, El Día de los Santos, religious syncretism: Maximón)
• Culture (Writers, universities founded in America: University of San Carlos, popular art).

You will be walking through the magical streets of Antigua Guatemala and be able to admire it from different rooftops in the city. The day might be cloudy or windy; we suggest wearing comfortable clothes, sneakers and a light sweater.
